Black History Fellowship

Sunday, February 27, Pastor J. B. Handley, and the Seven Star MB Church hosted the 2nd annual Black History Fellowship. In attendance was Bailey Chapel MB Church (Eddie Handley, Sr., Pastor), Regenerated MB Church (Levell Bass, Pastor), and Mt. Harmony MB Church.

Highlights of the service included a historical talk, where men in women in the congregation were acknowledged for their contributions to their communities. Deacon Ware’s trivia questions of significant dates in Black History, sparked interest and conversation.

January 1, 1863 – The Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Abraham Lincoln, freeing slaves.

Dec. 6, 1865 – The 13th Amendment was signed, ending the institution of slavery.

January 20, 2009 – The inauguration of President Barak Obama as the 44th president of the United States.
